Buy a quiver shaped more like a flat pocket than an open tube. This is more a problem if your quiver has no friction fit. Arrows don't fall out too easily (but they can fall out). After a shot, my follow through puts my draw hand at my right shoulder, 5 inches away from the next arrow in my quiver. Back quivers aren't slower or farther away from your hand if you shoot continuously.□Ĭons that really aren't, or don't have to be with the right equipment: And looking cool is the only reason I do archery. Sometimes I don't realize I'm out, and reach back to grab air, which makes me look silly. If you have different arrows for different ranges or purposes, that will be extra annoying. I end up making a wide arm motion out and back (yawn/stretch motion) laying the shaft against my arm to ensure the arrow point never protrudes backwards. My biggest complaint is that if the line is crowded and someone is shooting right behind you, you have to be really careful when pulling each arrow out so you don't hit your neighbor.I don't think one quiver is totally objectively better than another. There are pros and cons, but in the end this is a very personal preference kind of question. I use a back quiver at an indoor shooting range.
